There's always a danger that charities will find themselves increasingly stretched by the sheer scale of the needs they're attempting to address, and it sounds like this new entry to the register, 1 Dog at a Time Rescue UK, is keen to ensure it doesn't take on more than it can handle.
Everybody needs a place to be themselves and it looks as if the men of Denbigh, Wales, and Hounslow, west London, are getting just that as the social inclusion charities Denbigh Men's Shed and Hounslow Men's Shed open their (wooden, slatted) doors. Perhaps they're trying to escape from Flipping Youth - no, not a cry of exasperation, but a new entry offering skateboarding and BMXing to young people.
Meanwhile, the education and advice charity Ark in the Sky came down with a bit of a bump this month as it left the register, and the Gambian education charity Achieving a Headstart fell behind.
The training charity Lift People had to put them back down, but it is to be hoped that Keep Your Smile was able to live up to its name as it too made its way out of the charitable exit door.
