- Charities are putting more resources into direct mail, but the private sector is cutting its investment. According to research for Marketing magazine, overall spending on direct mail fell by 10 per cent in 2007 compared with the previous year, but charity spending increased by 7 per cent.

- Michael Dent was named Fundraiser of the Year at the Institute of Fundraising's National Fundraising Awards in July.
