Cancer Research UK signs £250,000 a year deal

By Mathew Little, Third Sector Online, 28 July 2008

Cancer Research UK has signed a corporate partnership deal with live music company Live Nation, which organises concerts and festivals and owns music venues.

The company has pledged to raise more than £250,000 a year for CRUK. It is the charity’s 65th corporate partnership.

Most of the fundraising will come from Live Nation events, but the company will also provide pro bono support for CRUK events, donate auction prizes and help get the charity’s messages across.

CRUK has already received more than £30,000 from the partnership after visitors on the guest list at the Download Festival at Donington Park, Derbyshire, in June were asked to make donations.

Paul Farthing, high-value relationships director at CRUK, said: Live Nation is a very exciting opportunity for us, which allows us to take the charity’s messages to a new audience.
