Fundraisers must persuade trustees to take the long view, says expert
Fundraisers should focus on long-term strategic planning to weather the recession, delegates at a conference on strategic fundraising management will be told.
Christopher Askew, director of fundraising at Breakthrough Breast Cancer, will also tell delegates at the Institute of Fundraising event in March that it is vital to get the backing of trustees, who often prefer to make decisions based on short-term impact.
Askew told Third Sector ahead of the conference that understanding the importance of strategy was critical, especially in the current economic climate.
