Miliband opposes law change on charities' political campaigning

The coalition of charities lobbying for a change in the law that would allow charities to dedicate all their resources to political campaigning has suffered a major setback after Cabinet Office minister Ed Miliband publicly opposed the idea.

During a debate on the Government's third sector review in the Commons last week, shadow charities minister Greg Clark asked Miliband if he believed that a charity "should be able to devote 100 per cent of its resources to campaigning politically".
