NCVO will support a Euro Compact

The NCVO is spearheading plans by European sector bodies to use a measure in the forthcoming EU Reform Treaty that would force the European Commission to consider legislating for a European Compact.

The treaty includes plans for 'citizen's initiatives', which would allow people and organisations to propose legislation to the commission if they gather a million signatures from a "significant number" of member states.
