NCVO conference ventures north

By John Plummer, Third Sector Online, 24 July 2008

Umbrella body the NCVO is to hold its autumn conference outside London for the first time this year.

The conference will be held on 7 November at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.

It is being organised in conjunction with infrastructure organisation the Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation and will feature workshops and speakers including Stuart Etherington, chief executive of the NCVO, and Atiha Chaudray, chair of the Manchester BME Network.

Sir Bert Massie, commissioner for the Compact, will address delegates at the drinks reception.

"We wanted to remind our members that we are not just a London organisation," said a spokeswoman for the NCVO.
