More boutiques on the way, says Oxfam
By Sarah Finley, Third Sector Online, 24 July 2008
Oxfam plans to convert more of its charity shops into upmarket boutiques after converting three stores in London.
The charity redesigned its shops in Westbourne Grove, Chelsea and Chiswick High Road in May and June this year in a bid to encourage a new audience into its shops.
An Oxfam spokesman said the organisation had not decided which stores would be next in line for a refit, but more boutique stores were likely to appear.
"We wanted to experiment and try to reach a new audience, while keeping our existing customers," he said. "We are not changing the brand; we just felt the boutique, vintage look would help us keep on trend."
