A former Olympic swimmer has become the 100th person to sign up for a charity fun run.

Adrian Turner, who swam in the men's 200m individual medley at the Athens 2004 games, will make a splash in the Four2Go race series in October, which will raise money for adoption and fostering charity Parents for Children.

The races will start in the Lee Valley, which runs for 26 miles across Hertfordshire and Essex, near the 2012 Olympic site, and will range from a marathon to a 1km fun run.

Young people from a Hackney summer sports scheme, run by Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme, joined Turner to show their support for the race and the beginning of the London Olympiad.
