Amanda Holden backs Blue Cross campaign

By Sarah Townsend, Third Sector Online, 18 September 2008

Actor Amanda Holden backs the campaign

The actor joined in the fun as an estimated 2,000 dogs accompanied their owners to work yesterday for 13th annual Take Your Dog to Work Day.

The initiative is designed to encourage dog owners to spend more time with their pets as well as raise funds for the charity. Participants are encouraged to donate or seek sponsorship.

Laura Dobson, senior press officer at the Blue Cross, said: "The more people we can reach with a message about responsible dog ownership, the better."

The Take Your Dog To Work Day site lists fundraising tips, such as asking companies to match donations.

Dobson said: "Some owners have even set up JustGiving pages for their dogs."
