Charities get free online access to London's Poverty Profile database

City Parochial Foundation and New Policy Institute make information available to help funding applications
Charities are being offered free access to a comprehensive online library of research into poverty, inequality and social exclusion in London to help them make funding applications.
London's Poverty Profile, developed by the City Parochial Foundation and the New Policy Institute, provides information about areas such as health, housing, homelessness, education, unemployment and low pay.
"For charities that work in London - both national and local organisations - it provides detailed, rigorous data about areas and groups of people with particular needs that would help to inform good strategic planning as well as building the case to commissioners and funders," said Rachael Takens-Milne, field officer at the City Parochial Foundation.
The foundation and the institute are planning to run workshops for local charities about how they can use the website, which will be updated regularly when new data becomes available.
The research found that London has the highest rates of poverty and inequality of any region in England.
