Jonathan Bland to leave Social Enterprise Coalition
By David Ainsworth, Third Sector Online, 29 May 2009
Search is on for new chief executive
Jonathan Bland, chief executive of the Social Enterprise Coalition, has announced that he will step down in October.
Bland, who has been chief executive of the coalition since it formed in 2003, is moving to Finland to pursue other opportunities, he said in a statement.
"I have been inspired by so many social entrepreneurs over the past six years and feel very privileged to have played a leadership role in the UK social enterprise movement," he said. "I have enormously enjoyed being the founding chief executive of the Social Enterprise Coalition."
Claire Dove, chair of the coalition, paid tribute to Bland's work. "Thanks to his passion and drive, the coalition is set to move into a new era, leading our movement to establish social enterprise at the heart of the UK economy," she said.
The coalition said it would start work immediately on recruiting a replacement.
