Acevo strategy chief 'will challenge Government'

The former special adviser to former Cabinet Office minister Hilary Armstrong has been appointed to a top role at chief executives umbrella body Acevo.

Peter Kyle, whose Cabinet Office role included advising Armstrong's successor, Ed Miliband, when the latter was third sector minister, will become director of strategy and enterprise next month.

Kyle, who has a doctorate in international development, was an adviser to Hove and Portslade MP Celia Barlow, and was project director for charity Children on the Edge. His new role will involve holding the Government to account, he said: "I want to play a growing role in challenging the Government and making sure that it delivers on its promises. There are certain things I am keen to see delivered, particularly around the way the Government has indicated that the sector will play a growing role in delivering public services."
