Addaction chief leaves charity

Deborah Cameron departs with immediate effect.

Deborah Cameron, chief executive of Addaction, has left her post. In a brief statement, the drug and alcohol treatment charity said she had left to pursue other interests after three years at the helm.

A spokesman added that discussions between Cameron and Addaction's board over her "arrangements for the future" had been taking place for several weeks.

William Butler, Addaction's chief operating officer, has assumed the role of acting chief executive until a permanent replacement is appointed.
