Bosses talk over Macmillan terms

The chief executives of Macmillan Cancer Support and Help the Hospices will meet to discuss their concerns about Macmillan's funding terms of agreement.

Help the Hospices is concerned that Macmillan-funded posts, such as nurses, are forced to retain the Macmillan name even after funding from the cancer charity expires.

Of 4,084 Macmillan-branded posts, 2,343 are no longer funded by the charity.

Help the Hospices asked for a meeting after a charity chief executive said she was considering refusing up to £200,000 from Macmillan because of the terms of agreement. "There is no easy solution, but it's confusing to the public," said Olivia Belle, director of communications at Help the Hospices.
