Breast Cancer Now cuts quarter of staff

Breast Cancer Now has lost about a quarter of its staff in a bid to remove duplication of jobs at the newly formed breast cancer research charity.

Launched in April after the merger of Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer, the charity had a combined total of 212 staff, according to the most recent accounts prepared by the two charities.

BCN would not confirm how many people it employs or how many had been made redundant. But a statement from the charity said there had been a reduction of about 25 per cent in the number of posts.
