Bubb makes case for probation bill

Acevo chief executive Stephen Bubb has written to Conservative leader David Cameron urging him to support the bill to establish the National Offender Management Service.

Cameron has said the bill, which sets out a target of providing 10 per cent of offender management and rehabilitation services through charities, would extend "privatisation into the probation service". But Bubb said it would promote "client-focused services".

He has also written to the Archbishop of Canterbury asking for his support for the bill, which is currently being debated in the Lords.
