Capacitybuilders delays decisions

Capacitybuilders has said it will delay funding decisions on two grant programmes, each worth £18m.

The organisation was expected to announce in March the names of about 100 organisations that will receive a share of £18m under its Improving Reach programme, designed to enable more organisations working in excluded communities to access support. However, it received more than 900 applications and will not make an announcement until the end of May.

The organisation has also delayed its £18m consortia modernisation programme, which is part of a £30m funding strand to build up infrastructure consortia.

Jon Fox, director of strategy and policy at Capacitybuilders, said: "We have delayed announcements to meet our commitment of assessing applications to a high standard."
