Care charity wins communications award

A national care charity has won the top award for its annual review at one of the communications industry's biggest annual competitions.

Community Integrated Care (CIC) was presented with the prize at the British Association of Communicators in Business Excellence Awards last Friday. The competition is judged by a panel of more than 60 industry experts.

CIC beat a shortlist of corporate organisations. It was presented with a certificate and trophy by Olympic gold medallist Steve Cram for its 2006 review entitled My Life, My Way.

The review features the personal stories of people supported by the charity. CIC Chief Executive Phil Edgington said: "It is important for charities to demonstrate that we are just as skilful and professional as our counterparts in the private sector."
