MP urges an end to Shelter dispute

Labour MP John McDonnell has written to Adam Sampson, chief executive of homelessness charity Shelter, to warn that he will call for a Commons debate on the charity's treatment of its staff if the dispute between management and union members continues.
Shelter management has faced pressure from trade union Unite since January over changes to staff contracts that will involve longer working hours and an end to incremental pay increases. "I cannot emphasise enough how much this dispute has the potential to damage the reputation and standing of Shelter," writes McDonnell....
