Charities get £230m for deprived communities
Deprived communities across England will receive £230m in grants to boost jobs and education and reduce crime, the Communities and Local Government department has announced.
“Across the country, the New Deal for Communities partnerships have made a dramatic improvement to the lives of the people they serve,” said Baroness Andrews, community minister.
“The evidence is clear to see, including reducing crime and the fear of crime, raising the educational achievements and aspirations of young people in the community and improving health.”
