Charities advertise for services on community website

A website listings service that enables charities and voluntary organisations to advertise for what they need has been launched.

Individuals, businesses and other charities can browse community networking website Freshties.com to see which parts of charities’ shopping lists they can meet – from equipment to volunteers giving time to new ideas.

“We’re broadening the concept of community involvement so that everyone in the community can contribute,” said Ashish Poddar, founder of Freshties.com.

Not-for-profit organisations can join Freshties.com for free. They can also contact the website for a voucher code that can be emailed to local businesses and individuals to enable them to join for free as an encouragement to support charity projects.
