A small theatre company has beaten off competition from some of Britain's biggest charities to put itself in line for a £1m partnership.
The Chicken Shed Theatre Company is down to the final two in BSkyB's Make it Big charity selection process. NCH is also in the running for the money.
Shelter, the Prince's Trust and UK Youth were among the 165 initial applicants to the three-year partnership.
The two finalists will be visited by a group of Sky executives who will see the charities' work, and listen to how they plan to spend the money.
"Although we are not as large as the national charities, there is a synergy between Sky and what we do," said Calli Pellegrini, head of development at the Chicken Shed.
Ben Stimson, head of corporate responsibility for BSkyB, said: "Our panel considered 10 outstanding charities, and narrowing the field was always going to be a tough decision.
"The Chicken Shed Theatre Company and NCH stood out as having the best fit with BSkyB."
