Communications News: Autism and art

The work of Mark Annis, a 43-year-old artist with Asperger's syndrome, will feature at Wales' first international autism conference in Cardiff from 17-19 May. He will discuss his life, work and education since being diagnosed with autism aged six. The conference, entitled 'Development in Autistic Spectrum Disorders', is run by Autism Cymru, which hopes it will lead to a national forum for good practice. Many of the world's autism experts will feature alongside Welsh Assembly ministers, who will update the 500 delegates on the progress of the world's first national strategy for autism, currently being developed by the Welsh Assembly.
