Communications News: BSkyB to make free films for 10 charities

BSkyB has chosen 10 charities to benefit from three-minute promotional films worth around £50,000 each.

The broadcaster's 'Make It Big' project, which will select one of the shortlisted charities as its three-year partner for a deal worth £1m, will make the films next month and screen them on the Community Channel in July.

NCH, the Prince's Trust, UK Youth, and YouthNet UK were among the winners from 165 entrants. Each entrant had to write a short film outlining how it would work with 11-19-year-olds.

YouthNet UK's communications manager, Maddy Heil, said: "If we win, we will develop an online advice service for young people."
