The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund has produced three fact-sheets on how to develop, maintain and effectively monitor charity websites.
The advice, which will appear on the fund's own website, follows research by City University into 35 websites it had funded. The corresponding report said few charities fully understand the implications of setting up websites.
Many charities failed to adequately use web statistics to monitor activities on their site, nor did they consistently monitor use of their websites.
Other advice includes ensuring accessibility and employing an in-house web designer to ensure faster updates.
