COMMUNICATIONS NEWS: Islamaphobia

The latest report from charity the Minority Rights Group International aims to counter what it describes as a rising tide of Islamaphobia in the UK since September 2001. The Muslims in Britain report analyses Muslims' access to education, employment and housing and discusses Muslims' economic exclusion, political participation, and the significance of recent legislation affecting them. The situation of Muslims is one of the most pressing issues facing British society today, according to the report, which claims there has been a "huge rise

in the number of attacks on Muslims in Britain over the past 12 months.

Minority Rights Group International is an NGO working to secure the rights of ethnic, religious and linguistic minorities and indigenous people worldwide. Its activities focus on international advocacy, training, publishing and outreach.
