COMMUNICATIONS NEWS: Safety first

Builders up and down the country are being invited to make a donation to wear their safety goggles on 16 July as part of The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association's Goggles for Guide Dogs event. The charity hopes to raise awareness of the importance of eye safety in the workplace and is targeting builders and construction workers. It will also use the campaign to promote eye safety to DIY enthusiasts across the country. Each year, DIY causes more than 20,000 eye injuries - the equivalent one every 25 minutes. The event is an off-shoot of Guide Dogs'

Shades For A Day

fundraiser, held on the same day.
