COMMUNICATIONS NEWS: Signature strength

Oxfam has launched a new advertising campaign that asks people to add their name to its Make Trade Fair petition rather than donating money to the charity. The national press and online campaign is part of a drive by Oxfam to add another 500,000 signatures to its Big Noise petition, which it hopes to present to the World Trade Organisation meeting in Cancun, Mexico, in September. Additional activity to convince people to add their support will include an email marketing campaign, mobile phone text message initiatives and strong presence at this summer's music festivals, where it hopes to rally thousands of young supporters to the cause.
