Diamond deals

Marilyn Monroe look-a-like Lorelei Lee joined ActionAid campaigners outside the World Diamond Congress's biannual meeting to protest about the use of diamonds to fund conflict and human rights abuses in Africa. Wearing a "diamonds are a girl's best friend" dress, she joined activists who gathered to draw attention to the alleged abductions, mutilations and deaths that the charity claims follow the diamond trade in war-torn areas. The charity, along with Amnesty International and Global Witness, is lobbying for the implementation of a code of conduct for the European diamond industry.
