Dogs Trust's Poppy to host email forum on new Welfare Bill

The Dogs Trust is to open up an online information channel next month to showcase the opinions of its office dog.

A spokeswoman said the trust wanted to find a novel way to explain, in layman's terms, often complex information relating to the draft Animal Welfare Bill.

Poppy, a Bedlington Terrier-whippet cross, will give her opinion about a different dog-related issue fortnightly in a bid to create debate around contentious issues such as tail-docking.

Website visitors will be able to send their comments to her at poppy@dogstrust.org.uk.

Poppy is no stranger to stardom. She features on the cover of the trust's current issue of Wag.

The spokeswoman refused to let on whether the dog had received training on a computer, or if the website manager would merely solicit Poppy's opinions and type up responses on her behalf.
