Exits and Entrances: Little bears, trees and cats

The latest comings and goings in the sector

Sometimes it's hard to tell from its name what a charity does. For example, register newcomer Friends of Little Bears will sadly not be offering support to Rupert, Pooh and Paddington, but to the pupils of Little Bears Pre-School in Chester. On the other hand, the Defibrillators in Public Places Charitable Trust, which has also joined the register this month, does exactly what it says on the tin.

Charities can be great at bringing people together. In Andover even the plant life seems to be exercising its community spirit, with the creation of the environmental charity Andover Trees United. Also arriving on the register, in something of a state, is Cats in Distress, a feline rescue charity, as well as the aid charity Every Child First - did they all try to get through the door at the same time?

Meanwhile, Cool After School left the in-crowd and the register recently, and the fellow childcare charity Sticky Fingers Club decided it was probably best to wash up the mess at last.

The grant-giving body the Ripples Trust stopped making any, and the Road Locomotive Society decided it was time to make tracks.
