The sleepy Yorkshire village of Todmorden has never seen anything like it. Ten volunteer fundraisers bared all in a calendar for Cancer Research UK.

Teacher Susan Wright, who suggested the idea, said: "I did wonder if we had gone too far. It was a bit different from my usual hobbies of baking and gardening.

Each month has a different cancer theme. For October, breast cancer awareness month, the women cover their modesty with pink balloons. For men's cancer month in June, the women even persuaded the local vicar to join them frolicking in a ball pool.

Amanda McLernon (Miss November) said: "Our committee had become a bit stale on ideas until we came up with this.
