Finance: Course will act as investment guide

The Charities Aid Foundation is to host a workshop to give charities a better understanding of investment.

The Introduction to Investments course covers the basic principles of investing and offers an overview of the current economic environment.

The workshop is intended for trustees, treasurers and financial controllers who have little or no investment experience.

Issues that will be tackled include the Charity Commission's guidelines, the legal responsibilities of trustees, risk, the various investment vehicles and understanding financial performance.

All attendees will receive a copy of the Charities Aid Foundation's Investment Guide, which is aimed at small and medium-sized voluntary organisations.

The course takes place at Insight Investment in central London on 24 May. The cost is £100 per delegate.
