FINANCE NEWS: Accountant boosts team dedicated to charity services

Accountancy firm Chantrey Vellacott CFK has appointed Sally Kirby to the new post of director of charity services as part of its strategy to strengthen the charities team.

Kirby, a former head of internal audit at NSPCC, was previously charities manager at the firm.

In her new role, she will be responsible for developing specialist training for auditors working with charities, advising on risk management for charities and working with individual clients.

Chantrey Vellacott aims to develop the specialist skills of staff for the charity sector and would expand the team from outside if necessary. "Charities require, expect and deserve expertise. They need specialists who are up to speed able to deliver,

she said.

Kirby is also a member of the Charity Finance Directors' Group, and of the Charities Internal Audit Network, advising its executive committee on good governance.
