FINANCE NEWS: Age Concern takes on strategy firm to overhaul its shops

Age Concern England has appointed business and property strategy firm Corpra to increase the charity's income from its network of shops.

A new format has been piloted in five stores and the firm will manage the roll-out of the new look in all of Age Concern's 130 stores.

Andrew Vale, head of retail operations at Age Concern England, said: "Our retail portfolio represents a major income stream for us, as well as being a very visible symbol of our presence in the community. Corpra's understanding of the issues we face as a charity retailer has helped us define what makes a profitable store."

Corpra has previously worked with Cancer Research UK and HFC Bank. The charity is seeking to attract volunteers and extra income from the partnership.
