FINANCE NEWS: Expansion prompts NCH to install new financial software

Children's charity NCH has awarded a £475,000 contract to an accounting software firm for the installation of a financial management system.

The contract was given to Open Accounts after an extensive tendering process.

The system will provide web access to remote sites run by the charity.

Employees such as social workers will be able to submit requests electronically for stair lifts or stationery. Fundraisers will be able to access information about budgets and financial forecasts. Senior managers will also be able to check the financial health of the organisation.

NCH's head of management accounts and systems Yusuf Firat said: "NCH has experienced dramatic growth in recent years, and has more than doubled in size since 1996. This continuing growth means our ageing infrastructure would not have coped for much longer. We needed a system that would meet our requirements and continue to meet the demands that growth will place on us."
