Finance News: Fairtrade appoints Martin Tyler to lead finance and IT team

The Fairtrade Foundation has appointed Martin Tyler to the new post of head of finance and information technology.

Tyler joins from the Prince's Foundation where he was director of finance and administration.

His career in the voluntary sector has also included a stint as director of finance and information at Christian Aid.

Tyler said: "I am looking forward to moving to the Fairtrade Foundation to play an active role in the charity. The foundation's growth over the past few years shows the support from the UK public to make a major difference to the lives of many farmers and workers in the developing world."

He will be a member of the five-person management team at the Fairtrade Foundation.

The charity's executive director Harriet Lamb said: "Like Fairtrade itself, Martin's experience combines both commerce and international development - making him the perfect man for the job."
