FINANCE NEWS: WRVS spends £100k on accounts system to improve delivery

The Women's Royal Voluntary Service has invested £100,000 in new accounting software.

The charity says that the new system from PS Financials will improve cash-flow management, budgeting and forecasting for services such as hospital trading, community transport and meals and books on wheels.

WRVS director of finance Gordon Welsby said: "As a registered charity we have very stringent reporting requirements, and we need to be aware of all our income and expenditure on a project-by-project basis.

"This software will enable us to significantly improve reporting processes in order to provide managers with highly accurate management information that delivers a true picture of the financial position of our projects."

The system means that WRVS can match the format of invoices received from customers to speed up the data entry process.
