Finance: Pension transfer for blind charity

Action for Blind People has transferred its pension scheme to the Pensions Trust.

Under the agreement, 180 members of the charity's defined contribution scheme will become members of the Pensions Trust's money purchase plan.

A comparable closed final-salary scheme has been created for transferred members of Action for Blind People's closed final-salary scheme.

Chris Harris, director of finance and resource at Action for Blind People, said: "Our commitment to our employees is important to us, and we want to offer the best we can. We feel the Pensions Trust offers a comprehensive package that will suit our employees well."
