Free attendance for small charities at Gift Aid conference

Institute of Fundraising offers 50 places

The Institute of Fundraising is offering small charities free places at a conference to help them make maximum use of Gift Aid.

The institute will offer up to 50 places at its Fight the Recession with Gift Aid conference to any organisation with an annual income of less than £100,000. The conference will be held in London on 9 June.

The event is designed to show charities how to maximise the value of donations through Gift Aid as well as encouraging them to claim back tax on fundraising events and donated goods.

The Institute of Fundraising's tax-effective giving team will select a maximum of 50 charities based on how much it feels each would benefit.

A spokeswoman for the institute said the organisations most likely to be considered would be those that have not yet registered with HM Revenue & Customs to be eligible for Gift Aid, or those that have yet to make Gift Aid claims.

Charities can apply for free entry by visiting The deadline for applications is 1 May.
