Fundraising news in brief

The Lloyds TSB Foundation has published new guidelines for organisations that want to apply for funding.

The changes can be viewed online at www.lloydstsbfoundations.org.uk.

The Postcode Lottery is now operating in Yorkshire. Players with Yorkshire postcodes can compete for a top cash prize of £25,000, with all funds raised going to local charities. The lottery started in 2005 in north-east England, and has so far raised £650,000 for the GoodFund, which supports a number of local charities, including Groundwork and Children North East.

Blue Peter, now in its 49th year on the BBC, is looking for a UK charity partner for its next Blue Peter Appeal, which will run from November 2007 to October 2008. The deadline for written proposals is 9 March. See www.bbc.co.uk/charityappeals for more information.

The RSPB has raised £150,000 for its conservation work by selling more than one million cuddly singing bird toys since 2003, it revealed last week.
