Fundraising News: Dixons seeks input for charity partner

High street chain Dixons UK is inviting proposals to be its charity of the year from groups working with children and young people.

The criteria for the annual award include opportunities for Dixons employee involvement in volunteering and fundraising, UK-wide operations, use of technology to support clients, and a portfolio of ideas, promotions and events.

Dixons Group staff vote for the winners, which for the past two years have been consortia of disability and health charities.

The initiative raised £520,000 for the Health Matters consortium - Breast Cancer Campaign, Prostate Cancer Charity, MS Society and the Stroke Association.
