Fundraising News: Emmaus hires two to expand capacity for fund generation

Homelessness charity Emmaus UK has appointed Karen Foxhall as projects and development fundraiser and Kate Poole as major grants fundraiser.

Foxhall is working with Emmaus on projects to develop its local and regional fundraising capacity, while Poole will be seeking funds from statutory sources and national grant-making trusts.

Poole previously worked for Raleigh International's youth development programme.

Foxhall started in frontline support projects for the homeless and spent three years as a fundraiser for a local Bedfordshire charity.

She said: "Emmaus is refreshing. Other organisations do not offer the same work and training opportunities along with accommodation for homeless people."

Emmaus UK's fundraising manager John Thompson said: "More and more homeless people are turning to Emmaus for help, so we need to expand our existing communities programme and invest in new areas."
