IT executives will sleep out on the streets this autumn in a bid to raise money for the NCH's work with young homeless people.
The charity will call upon the IT industry to raise £300,000 this year from the sleep out event called Byte Night.
Byte Night, which is in its fourth year, is run by public relations company Kaizo, which has this year teamed up with conference organiser Eurotech.
Both companies will recruit IT professionals from their contact base to take part in the event.
Companies supporting the event include Hewlett-Packard, Logica and PricewaterhouseCoopers and S3 Group.
Last year's event, which raised £175,000, was supported by actress Jenny Agutter and golfing hero Nick Faldo.
Tony Manwaring, director of NCH, said: "An email address is often the only permanent address a homeless person has and is essential to helping them get back on their feet."
