Fundraising: The things they do - Holy roller

It's 874 miles from Cornwall to Caithness, but Norwich clergyman Michael Kingston covered twice that distance as he did the entire journey by bus in 11 days to raise £3,700 for charity.

He planned the route with The Great British Bus Timetable, spent £225 on fares, missed none of 50-plus connections, and travelled in some 25-year-old museum pieces. "I did it because I believe in saving lives, both physically and spiritually," said Kingston. The money will go to cancer research and the work of Anglican mission group Crosslinks in Kenya.
