Fundraising: The things they do - Super Gran

Septuagenarian great-grandmother Holly Irwin has dived out of an aeroplane from 10,000 feet to raise £3,250 for Motability, which provides powered wheelchairs and cars for people with disabilities. Although many people half her age would baulk at the idea, Irwin, 78, didn't hesitate.

"The parachute jump was absolutely fantastic," she said. "I felt very safe as I jumped in tandem with a professional sky-diver. Some people thought I was mad but, as I still have my health, I thought I might as well do it while I can." Irwin saw the event advertised in her local newspaper.
