The Public Fundraising Regulatory Association will publish its annual statistics on sign-ups at its annual general meeting

The Public Fundraising Regulatory Association will this afternoon publish figures showing how charities’ face-to-face fundraising efforts fared in 2011/12.

The PFRA will unveil the figures at its annual general meeting in London.

Last year’s figures showed that the total number of people who signed up to give to PFRA member organisations through direct debit rose by more than 100,000 in 2010/11 compared with the previous year.

The figures showed that 730,269 people signed up during the year, compared with 624,951 in 2009/10. It is the second-highest level of sign-ups in the PFRA’s 10-year history, behind the 740,670 recorded in 2008/09.

The rise was mainly down to a large rise in the number of people who signed up through door-to-door fundraisers.
