Public Administration Select Committee will look into 10 key areas, including fundraising regulation, political activity and public benefit
The Public Administration Select Committee will hold an inquiry into the impact and implementation of the Charities Act 2006.
An announcement from the cross-bench committee said the inquiry would examine 10 key areas, including whether the act has improved the regulation of fundraising, whether the rules on political activity by charities are appropriate and if it has clarified the public benefit requirement.
Other areas to be looked at include how the Charity Commission should be funded, how successful the charity tribunal has been and if there are too many charities.
The committee is asking for views as part of its inquiry. Those wishing to respond should write to firstname.lastname@example.org by midday on 14 September.
