Grants on offer to send small charities to political party conferences

The NCVO will fund bursaries for 30 charities with an income of less than £100,000 to enable them to attend this year's party conferences.

Successful organisations will receive a week’s pass to the Labour, Conservative or Liberal Democrats party conference.

There are ten places available at each of the three conferences and applicants will be able to nominate their preferred option, but the final decision will be made by the NCVO.

Sultana Begum, parliamentary and campaigns officer at the NCVO said: “Party conferences are incredibly competitive events, with many different organisations vying to get their voices heard.

“Our bursary scheme will not only give small organisations the opportunity to attend party conferences, but will also allow them to air their issues directly with a Minister or senior MP.”

NCVO parliamentary staff will be on hand to support successful organisations.

Registered charities that are interested in applying a bursary should contact Sultana Begum on 020 7520 2505.
